Will Van Dyke

Will Van Dyke is a creative person, a writer, and an artist. His ceramic work is currently in several galleries including Lill Street in Chicago, Craft Alliance in St. Louis and Plinth Gallery in Denver. His corncrib and water tower works were in a 2017 show entitled, “Architectonic” at Schaller Gallery in St. Joseph, Michigan and he was recently in a show at Anderson Ranch in Snowmass, Colorado for an Advanced Mentoring Program he attended there. He received his BS in engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology and an MA in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Of his work, he says, “I have an abiding interest and delight in the visual. As a former architect, I am drawn to the simple geometric shapes and forms of barns, corncribs and silos in the agricultural landscape of Illinois, Indiana and Iowa, and my recent work is intended as an homage to these forgotten, utilitarian structures, many of which are disappearing from the landscape.
